The gate fully goes to 44 inches with both extensions and the pressure mount system can go up to 2 inches on both sides.

satisfied my picky pup
My lab has always been a picky eater. We even had to change the food that the Breeder gave us. We switched to Rachel Ray bright puppy and he loved it. Of course, he can't be on puppy food forever so we tried to switch it to the Rachel Ray adult chicken one and he did not want to eat it at all. He didn't like seeing the big balls and just the thought of feeding him frustrated me because I knew he wasn't going to eat it. One day my dad was watching tv and a Nutro commercial came up and I decided to check it out. I had no idea that they had small bites for adult dogs. I was so happy! They only have 30 lbs bags so I skeptical because I was afraid he wasn't going to like it. I served him and he ate it so fast and he didn't even realize it was not Rachel's anymore. A huge weight has lifted off my shoulders! It is more expensive but it is totally worth it.

Love this gate
I love that once you put this gate in place you can open and close it without having to take it off the wall. The extension pieces allow you to adjust the width for different spaces.

Very functional gate
I bought 3 of these gates for our dogs (to keep them out of various parts of our house) and they work great! They are sturdy, stay in place, and the gate latches easily. They are perfect for our halls which are wider than most, making most gates too narrow. They are adjustable. We have medium/large dogs and they never try to jump them. The one thing I would prefer is if they were more attractive. Black with a bit more elegance would have made them perfect. But they are fine. They do their job and are the only ones I could find that would work for us. One suggestion: A photo of the adjustment mechanism would have convinced me right away that this was the right gate for us.

Doggie gate
The metal cracked already so I'm not sure why that part would break must not been welded very well to begin with we're going to try and fix it but just need to be aware

Not what I thought...
but it'll do the job. There's confusion around the size of the gate. It's described as Extra Wide and it isn't. I have the standar size version and this one is only a couple of inches wider. The description says one thing and it does not match the manufacturer pamphlet that comes with the product. Disappointed because I got this as a long term product so when we move we can keep it if we run into a larger opening but that might not be possible anymore. Also, it bends/caves in with the slightest weight/pressure where the extension is located.

Nice gate but inaccurate description!
The product description is completely inaccurate and needs to be reviewed/updated. Here on Chewy it says that the gate comes with only two 4-inch extenders but the instruction manual says there should be a 12-inch extender as well as the two 4-inch extenders. The description says that the gate can fit up to 41.5 inches wide but that's just not possible with only the two 4-inch extenders. My doorway is 40.5 inches and this gate was way too small (by several inches) and definitely looks like it's missing a piece. I contacted Chewy and there was even confusion on their end because they kept giving me different answers as to what extenders are included with this product. Ultimately Chewy did give me a refund, which I fully appreciate, but now I need to find a new gate and hope that the information is accurate.

Great for puppy - not sure about a big heavy dog
We purchased this gate for our stairs to stop our puppy getting onto any carpet areas. However the design did not work well as we had round banisters and you need 4 solid points of contact. So instead we ordered an extra extender section direct from the maker and installed it in the hallway instead. It works great. Some people have said that the gate is not large enough but I think they updated the instructions since then because it now states that the gate will appear too small because it works using pressure and therefore needs to be installed in order to fit the frame. For us the only downside is that you need to screw the four contact points in place. We rent so we didn't do that. The gate is holding steady without us needing to, but our puppy is small right now, so I'm not sure if it would be sturdy enough for a big dog. When I stand above the gate and look down I can see a very slight bend from the pressure so I can understand why another review stated that it broke through their plaster wall. So for those two reasons I took off 1 star. For us it works and does the job we needed it for.

Perfect barrier
We decided to create a little room rather than use a crate because our area is too small for a crate. We separated a section of our laundry/mud room for this purpose. It works perfectly. I still have access needed without needing to step over or constantly remove and reinstall a traditional gate. The added bonus is she has much more room and is still contained for safety.

Fail - gate is not functional and missing parts
The gate arrived missing one of the three add-on segments AND the door to the gate was too small so the latch missed connecting with the post by over an inch! Zero quality control here.
